Almost Done!

Well, I'm so excited. I went to the doctor today and officially set up an appointment date for induction. It will happen on April 7th, unless for some odd reason they run out of beds at the hospital. I'm so excited. One week and one day! I was so worried that they wouldn't induce me because I wasn't dialated, but I got the great news today that I could be. Hallelujah! I think I'm pretty much ready. I have a few projects I want to finish, but they are all little things that can be done in an hour or two. Can't wait!

Mike's happy day!

Well, Michael turned 30 this last Sunday, and it was a pretty good day. We got up early to go to Stake Conference. On the way back our car broke down. But through a lot of prayer and faith we made it home safe. Owen was such a good boy though. He tried to say happy birthday, but all that came out was Happy day. When Michael opened his present he said Happy day. Then, when I sang happy birthday, Owen sang happy day. It was pretty cute. Owen liked helping daddy blow out the candles on his cake, and he especially loved helping daddy eat it. Just yesterday he had a piece of happy day cake, and when he saw the wrapping paper in the garbage he had to bring it to me and say happy day. It was pretty cute. Anyway, Thanks to all of you who called to wish him a happy birthday and sent cards. Its sure nice to have such great family and friends!

Time for a Haircut

Well, I did it. After almost 2 years of growing out my hair, I cut it! I like it! What do you all think?

We're Going to the Zoo!

On Monday we decided to go to the zoo because it was such nice weather. It sure was a lot of fun! This was the first time that Owen has gone to the zoo and actually cared what he was seeing. It was pretty cool, and fun to see Owen see things and recognize what they were. He especially loved the lions and the cows (in the petting zoo)!

One of those nights when we had a little time before Owen went to bed we played with playdough. Michael had a masterpiece, and Owen loved it!

What could you do without?

After watching an Oprah show on what you could do without, we decided to try our own experiment. So, its over now, and I had a few thoughts. We decided that we wouldn't watch TV while Owen was awake. We wouldn't play Wii while Owen was awake, we didn't go out to eat, no shopping unless it was an absolute necessity, and we decided that we were going to have couple scripture study every night for at least a month. I must say, these are actually pretty ambitious goals for us. But we've learned a lot. I defiantly can go without TV more. I didn't really miss too much. And I really don't feel bad about it. I actually like the peace and quiet a little more. Not going shopping or out to eat has been the toughest. That's just what we do on the weekends when Michael is home. However, we have gotten a lot more done, and spent a whole lot more quality time with each other. Our experiment ended Tuesday, although we've decided to extend a few of our goals. We plan on not going out to eat for a whole month. That will end April 3rd. Also, we have decided to extend our scripture study goal too. I'm really quite proud of the things we've done. I've been shopping already, but I must say I've thought a lot more about if we really need what I'm buying. It's actually a real wake up call. Anyway, I would suggest anyone tries this little experiment. See what it does for your family.
